Wednesday September 17 was the one year anniversary of our Nueva Mujer's (new women) meetings. All of our Nueva Mujer ladies groups met together to have a joint meeting in Managua celebrating our first year anniversary. We began the Nueva Mujer in Nicaragua last September.
The evening was a great time to reflect on the past year and see all that God has done in one years time. Everyone enjoyed the worship service and fellowship. One of the most memorable events of the evening was when one of the Nueva Mujer groups performed a special folk-lore skit celebrating Nicaragua's Independence Day. Everyone enjoyed ice tea and home made cakes.
Unfortunately we had a deluge of rain that evening and had fewer ladies than expected. Still about 175 braved the weather to come out. Last year we began with 8 groups, now a year later we have 15 groups. We´ve seen the groups provide a wonderful place to grow in the Lord, meet friends and have fun together. This next year we have plans to begin a number of new groups in Managua and in areas around the country, such as Somoto, Rio Blanco, Juigalpa, Nueva Vida and Posoltega.
